With a keen interest in athletics, Katie grew up playing soccer, baseball and field hockey. Finding field hockey to be her true love, she found herself playing at the University of British Columbia while completing her Bachelor of Human Kinetics (2008) and Masters of Physical Therapy (2010). She continues to play in the Vancouver Women’s Field Hockey League.
Katie strives to provide the best care for her clients by continually furthering her education. She is certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (2013), is a Certified Chan Gunn IMS Practitioner (2015), is trained in vestibular rehabilitation, has achieved her Level 3 Manual Therapy with the Orthopedic Division. and is currently pursuing further education in pelvic health and pre/post-partum rehabilitation. Her experience lies in both public and private practice, having worked at Royal Columbian Hospital on various wards and completing home visits when clients are unable to make it into the clinic.
Katie believes that understanding one’s injury, anatomy and rehab plan plays a significant role in recovery. Her treatment approach incorporates a balance of manual therapy, IMS, acupuncture, personalized exercise programs and a healthy dose of client education to facilitate recovery and prevent future injuries.
Outside of the clinic, Katie loves spending time outdoors whether it’s playing field hockey, gardening, or chasing around her three little boys.
