Bike Fitting

How a bike fit can help:

At 90 RPM, the average cyclist completes well over 5,000 revolutions per hour. Due to the repetitive nature of cycling, any discomfort or inefficiency becomes extremely pronounced. A proper bike fit ensures that the optimal position is achieved to maximize performance, and minimize injury or discomfort.

What is included in a bike fit?

A bike fit session includes an examination of the 3 contact points of the bike (cleats, handlebars, saddle) to determine the optimal fit for the rider. Adjustments include, but are not limited to, saddle height and fore/aft, cockpit length, handlebar drop, and cleat positioning. Furthermore, a general assessment of the body is also performed to identify any strength, biomechanical, or range of motion deficits that can be addressed via an exercise program.

Who can benefit from a bike fit?

All bikers can benefit, especially those who experience any pain/discomfort while riding, or those who want to maximize performance from their bike.

What to bring to your bike fitting

– Your bike in clean and working condition

– Cycling attire

– Shoes (with cleats if you use them)

Notes:

Bike fits are covered by most extended health plans under physiotherapy up to a maximum per service. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to fit triathlon/TT bikes and mountain bikes.
