Born and raised in the northern town of Williams Lake, British Columbia, Vic draws on his background as a competitive athlete and personal experiences with injury rehabilitation.



Along with being a ranked national level competitive swimmer for over 15 years, Vic has trained and competed in Wrestling, Olympic Weightlifting, Track and Field, Basketball, and Football.



Vic completed his Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2013 after obtaining his Bachelors of Science with a major in Biomedical Physiology &amp; Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. He is certified with Chan Gunn IMS (a highly recognized Dry Needling Technique), Acupuncture Canada, and has also completed courses in Soft Tissue Release Techniques and Manual Therapy.



Vic recently completed his Master of Clinical Science, with a specialty in Sports and Exercise Medicine, as an Advanced Health Care Practitioner (AHCP), through the University of Western Ontario. Through this program, Vic also achieved his Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy, Canada’s highest level of sport rehabilitation specialization for his profession, allowing him to be a Clinical Specialist in Sport Physiotherapy.



“My passion for Physiotherapy comes from my personal experiences. I’ve always wanted to find a way to help others overcome their battles with their bodies. I truly believe we should all have the ability to function at optimal levels with our bodies, no matter our daily tasks or challenges.



You have to practice what you preach, and I live and breathe this lifestyle of maintaining an optimal functioning body. I want to inspire the next generation by showing them it can be done the right way. I wanted to open River District Physio, because I truly wanted to share this passion with others on a larger platform.”



Vic believes in using an individualized “hands-on” or manual approach with his rehabilitation protocol. He utilizes his diverse background in sports training, vast knowledge, advanced education, and experiences in exercise rehabilitation to provide the correct exercise programs, biomechanical correction, and education to help optimize the recovery process and prevent future injuries.

Vic Sanghera

Director, Physiotherapist

Gurinder graduated Physiotherapy from UBC in 2012, fulfilling a lifelong dream he envisioned at age 13.
He was a young athlete who seemingly spent more time sidelined than on the field due to injuries. Gurinder sought change and desperately desired control over his pain and health.
This sparked a keen interest and passion for the human body and performance that has grown. Fast-forward a couple of decades and Gurinder is fulfilling a new dream by opening River District Physio.
The motivation behind wanting to open a clinic was simple: to have a larger reach, redefine what quality rehab looks like and to hopefully inspire people along the way.

Gurinder Hothi

Neil graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics and a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy. With his strong background in exercise and functional rehabilitation, Neil has a special interest in sport-related injuries and has worked with the New Westminster Hyacks Football, Sullivan Heights Football and Richmond Devils Hockey.
In his practice, he works with a wide array of clients, ranging from athletes of all levels, to individuals just looking to optimize their health. Neil uses a mix of hands-on manual therapy techniques, along with promoting movement &amp; corrective exercise in treating his patients.
Currently, Neil holds his certificate in Chan Gunn IMS, along with his acupuncture certificate from the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute, Level 2 Manual Therapy, and Mulligan Concept certifications.
Neil is also a trained provider of the Shift Concussion Management Program, in which he offers baseline testing for athletes along with post-concussion care for all individuals. When Neil is not working in the clinic he enjoys playing basketball and soccer, along with volunteering within the sports community.

Neil Nijjar

Physiotherapist

Shane completed his Honours Degree of Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2017. Prior to studying in Ireland, he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 2012.
Shane believes in an individualized combination of evidence-based manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, and a preventative treatment approach to combat injuries and maintain active lifestyles. Shane’s mission is the help clients reach their unique goals to help enhance their lives.
Shane grew up in interior British Columbia where being outside and active was a part of life. He spends as much time as he can on a snowboard, a soccer field, or a basketball court.

Shane Basran

Marcus graduated from UBC with his Master of Physical Therapy shortly after completing his Kinesiology degree at SFU. Education is at the forefront of his treatment sessions and is complemented with specific exercise prescription, dry needling, and manual therapy. He has a special interest in back and shoulder injuries as a result of his personal experience with them.
Outside of the clinic, Marcus is a lifelong athlete. He played competitive volleyball, and grew up participating in soccer, baseball, and hockey. His current hobbies include volleyball, weight training, cycling, and trying new food.
Whether you are an elite athlete, weekend warrior, or simply want to get back to doing what you love, Marcus will work with you to devise an individualized plan that fits into your busy life. Marcus is fluent in English and Cantonese.

Marcus Kwan

From a young age, Lesly recognized she had a passion for health &amp; fitness, and also for helping others. This passion fuelled her to complete a degree in Kinesiology from UBC in 2013 and pursue a career as a kinesiologist. As a movement specialist, Lesly has worked with a wide variety of clientele both in clinic and gym settings.
Whether training clients for injury rehab, fitness, or athletic goals, Lesly’s focus is ensuring a solid foundation and proficient movements are restored and maintained to ensure client goals are being met with success!
In her spare time Lesly enjoys weight training, hiking, pilates, travel, playing or lounging by the water, and eating any and all of the goodies 🙂

Lesly Novak

Kinesiologist

Born and raised in the sunny Okanagan, Shivneet completed the Registered Massage Therapy Program at Langara College in 2018. Shivneet&#8217;s focus in massage therapy is to provide the highest quality of care to all her clients with a focus on patient education and rehabilitation therapy. She centres her practice around detailed assessments and reassessments to get a clear idea of the progress of treatments with the client&#8217;s goal in mind.
Techniques often used in Shivneet&#8217;s treatments include trigger point release, myofascial release therapy, active myofascial release, passive and active stretching, deep tissue massage and joint mobilizations integrated with Swedish Massage techniques. Shivneet has experience working with athletes, spinal cord injuries, BC Cancer Society, geriatrics, pre and post pregnancy and the general public.
When not working, Shivneet enjoys everything outdoors from hiking, swimming, trail runs, lounging at the beach, weight training and travelling, but most of all she loves spending time with her American bulldog, Ziggy.

Shivneet Sidhu

Registered Massage Therapist

With a keen interest in athletics, Katie grew up playing soccer, baseball and field hockey. Finding field hockey to be her true love, she found herself playing at the University of British Columbia while completing her Bachelor of Human Kinetics (2008) and Masters of Physical Therapy (2010). She continues to play in the Vancouver Women’s Field Hockey League.



Katie strives to provide the best care for her clients by continually furthering her education. She is certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute (2013), is a Certified Chan Gunn IMS Practitioner (2015), is trained in vestibular rehabilitation, has achieved her Level 3 Manual Therapy with the Orthopedic Division. and is currently pursuing further education in pelvic health and pre/post-partum rehabilitation. Her experience lies in both public and private practice, having worked at Royal Columbian Hospital on various wards and completing home visits when clients are unable to make it into the clinic.



Katie believes that understanding one&#8217;s injury, anatomy and rehab plan plays a significant role in recovery. Her treatment approach incorporates a balance of manual therapy, IMS, acupuncture, personalized exercise programs and a healthy dose of client education to facilitate recovery and prevent future injuries.



Outside of the clinic, Katie loves spending time outdoors whether it’s playing field hockey, gardening, or chasing around her three little boys.

Katie MacPherson

As a graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, Peter has gained considerable knowledge and practical experience relating to the human body; this includes common injuries affecting your work and daily activities, as well as chronic conditions that cause you constant pain and discomfort. Peter’s goal as an RMT is focused on working with his clients to create a safe and effective treatment plan to achieve their goals and return to their optimal health. In his practice, Peter believes in integrating various relaxation and therapeutic massage modalities including Swedish massage, deep-tissue massage, neuromuscular techniques, and trigger point release therapy.
Peter has always enjoyed living a healthy and active lifestyle. Prior to becoming an RMT, Peter worked as an aquatic-fitness instructor, where he helped people of all ages learn the importance of postural awareness to prevent injuries before they occur or get worse. Peter’s interest in anatomy and body mechanics, as well as his passion for helping others, is what led Peter to a career in massage therapy.
Outside of the clinic, Peter enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising in the gym or outside at the local park, and cheering on the local sports teams!

Peter Kang

Stefan graduated from UBC with a Masters in Physical Therapy and Bachelors in Kinesiology. His approach to physio extends beyond his education, drawing on his history of personal injury and experience as a Varsity Rower. Stefan understands first hand the importance of injury prevention and rehabilitation.
His treatment approach combines a thorough assessment with an individualized combination of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, patient education, and exercise prescription to empower clients to take control of their recovery. He has a keen interest in examining the underlying factors of injuries. His goal is to increase clients’ body awareness to minimize their time in the clinic and maximize their time doing what they love without being limited by pain.
As a Vancouverite, Stefan enjoys rotating through the seasonal activities from the mountains to the court, the same active lifestyle he helps his patients experience. His current favourites include basketball, soccer, skiing, cycling, and bowling (you read correctly, TV guide classifies it as a sport so we do too). Stefan is fluent in English and Serbian.

Stefan Cvoric

Rony graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science, Majoring in Kinesiology in 2017. He continued his pursuit of education at The University of Queensland in Australia, graduating with a Master’s of Physiotherapy Studies Degree in 2019.
As a life-long learner, Rony continues to stay up to date with the most recent research to integrate into his treatment with clients. Rony’s treatment philosophy involves addressing the cause of symptoms through various approaches including hands-on manual therapy, exercises, and client education. In the long-term, Rony believes that working one on one with the client towards self-management is key to helping patients achieve optimal health and develop healthy habits.
In his time away from the clinic, Rony fulfills his love of outdoors and active lifestyle through hiking, playing Ice Hockey and experimenting with different exercises. He is a world traveller, having visited many countries and enjoys experiencing different cultures, traditions, and visiting the world’s most sought out restaurants.

Rony Gill

Born and raised in the neighbourhood, Justine is passionate to get her community into the clinic to start their recovery journey.
After a serious MVA in 2015 that ended her career in hairstyling, she has had first hand experience in seeing the benefits of manual therapy in conjunction with active rehabilitation. She loves watching the process of clients getting back into their flow and leaving with a smile on their face.
Justine coordinates the daily functions of the clinic and is quick to assist you in any way that she can. When Justine is not keeping everything running smoothly at the clinic, she is home baking up a storm with her yorkie and kitten nearby.

Justine Patara

Clinic Accounts Manager 

Kiara grew up as a competitive dancer in Burnaby and has had her fair share of physiotherapy over the years. Naturally taking an interest in the human body to further her career in the arts, it was only right to call River District Physio her new home. She understands how important it is to nurture the body that supports your dreams, passions and lifestyle and wants nothing more but to help facilitate the same for others.
Kiara has been with River District Physio from the early days and has taken on the privilege of coordinating the daily happenings of the clinic as well as events and promotions. Kiara is your go to for any of your questions or concerns
Outside of the clinic you will find Kiara teaching dance or working on her next choreography piece but more likely checking out a new local brewery.

Kiara MacDonald

Clinic Operations Manager

Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, Kristen recently graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology with a specialization in Exercise Science from the University of the Fraser Valley. Kristen is excited to kick-start her career here at River District Physio as a Kinesiologist.
Kristen has always had a passion for the rehabilitation process, specifically how beneficial manual and physical therapy are, especially after having a couple injuries herself. With the knowledge of how the body works she is excited to develop individual programs to get her clients back to their daily activities and achieve their fitness goals through education on pain management, functional movements and detailed assessments.
When Kristen is not working she loves being active outdoors, hiking, playing softball, snowboarding and grabbing a couple drinks on a patio.

Kristen McLaren

Whether you are dealing with an injury, have been in pain for years, want to enhance your performance, or simply relax, Adam can address your needs. He utilizes a combination of Swedish massage, myofascial techniques, deep tissue releases, stretching, and joint mobilizations to meet your goals. Adam is also certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
As team RMT for the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL, Adam also treats hockey players and staff alongside a multidisciplinary medical team.
Adam has completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, with an Active Health and Rehabilitation Concentration, and a certificate in Health &amp; Fitness Studies. After completing his degree, he pursued massage therapy because of his interest in sports, appreciation of the complexity of the human body, and promoting health and wellness in a fulfilling manner.
Outside of the clinic, Adam enjoys keeping active. He loves challenging the body through strength training and also participates in recreational soccer and hockey leagues. He also enjoys camping, lounging at the beach, and planning the next travel destination.

Adam Chang

Daniel Wu is a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and a registered acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia. Daniel graduated from the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, BC. He did his internship training at the Provincial TCM Hospital of Chengdu University of TCM, China.
Born and raised in China, Daniel was surrounded by a rich TCM culture from a very young age, and he grew to believe in the natural healing power of TCM. It has become his lifelong passion to pass on the benefits of TCM to others.
Daniel has years of acupuncture experience helping patients recover from either physical or emotional pain. He feels a deep sense of satisfaction when he sees his patients doing much better after treatments.
Being very active in sports himself, Daniel has a particular interest in musculoskeletal disorders and pain management. He is also confident in treating a variety of conditions such as digestive disorders, emotional disorders, and many others.
Outside of the clinic, Daniel enjoys playing tennis and hiking in nature.

Originally from Burnaby, Nicole grew up dancing competitively and continued her passion for health and wellness through her post secondary studies. As she approaches her final years in kinesiology she joined the River District team to explore and understand new aspects of clinical care through physical therapy. Nicole enjoys cultivating relationships with clients as they complete their recovery journey. 
At the clinic, you can find Nicole at the front desk coordinating client care and ensuring smooth experiences during your time in treatment. In her free time, Nicole can be found hiking with her two dogs and exploring new eateries!

Nicole Makihara

Client Care Coordinator

Born and raised in Surrey, BC, spending most of her time flipping on beams or trying the newest crossover moves on the court. Maneera has been involved in sports since a very young age. Experiencing numerous injuries along with many physiotherapy visits, she developed a strong interest in the profession. This led her to joining River District Physio to gain more insight and knowledge on the career she wishes to attain in the future. She enjoys assisting clients in any way needed and is quick to ensure you are receiving answers to any questions and concerns.
Maneera is currently enrolled in a Health Sciences post-secondary degree while working at River District Physio. When she is not working or hitting the books, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and staying updated with all things sports.

Maneera Purewal

Originally from the prairies, Madison grew up always playing sports but started playing competitive badminton and ultimate frisbee at a young age. She has a passion for being active and has always been interested in learning more about health. This spurred on her interest to pursue Kinesiology. As she is in her final years of Kinesiology, she was able to find an opportunity to work in the RDP clinic to further enhance her knowledge about physiotherapy, clinical and patient care.



She is eager to help and offer friendly assistance to aid in your journey of recovery and health however possible. Outside of work, you will find her hiking in nature, trying new foods or playing Ultimate Frisbee.

Madison Ong

Growing up as a dancer, starting at a young age, Rachel has experienced a variety of injuries which resulted in many physiotherapy visits. These visits developed a great interest in the profession which made her want to pursue the career. The various types of approaches that practitioners used to help her on her recovery journey intrigued her. Working at River District Physio has helped her gain a deeper understanding of the career, due to the helpful and supportive team that is also guiding her through this journey. While working at the front desk, Rachel enjoys interacting with clients and supporting them in any way she can.



Rachel is currently working towards completing a post secondary Health Sciences degree. When she’s not working or on campus, you can find her at the gym or adventuring with her friends.

Rachel Dalisay

Danielle graduated from UBC with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. Prior to her Masters, she obtained a Bachelor of Science, Major in Biology and Minor in Kinesiology, at UFV. Danielle has a keen interest in working with clients with both orthopaedic/sports injuries, and those with neurological injuries, from her time spent previously working as a Kinesiologist.



Outside of the clinic, you will find Danielle staying active by attending spin classes and going to the gym; she also loves spending time outdoors, including kayaking, hiking, and traveling. Growing up, she enjoyed dance and playing volleyball, which allowed her to experience and better understand the determination and resilience required of athletes or of those who just love to stay active in their spare time. This experience, on top of her education/certifications, helps her bring evidence-based treatment and individualized rehabilitation to each of her clients.



She also strongly believes in a hands-on, manual therapy and exercise-based approach to physiotherapy, and she loves sharing knowledge through client education. Danielle looks forward to meeting you in the clinic, and helping you reach your goals!

Danielle Belcourt

Carly graduated from the Okanagan College of Massage Therapy in 2014, and uses deep tissue release to encourage long lasting pain relief. She uses a wide scope of techniques to encourage injury healing, increased range of motion, and general tissue health, while her treatment style is therapeutic and relaxing. Each patient she sees will have treatments tailored to their unique needs, and they can opt to receive personalized home care with each appointment.



Special interests within the scope of <a href="https://inspirithealth.ca/registered-massage-therapy-vancouver/">massage therapy</a> are fascial work, tendinitis, and migraine management.



Some of Carly’s preferred physical activities are rock climbing, archery and running. She enjoys traveling, volunteering at the SPCA, and baking in her spare time.

Carly Grieve

Vu is a graduate from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. He has a background treating sports-related injuries, chronic pain, and repetitive strain injuries. Having experienced sports and work injuries himself, he found massage therapy to be the most beneficial in relieving pain and muscle tension from his injuries.



Vu believes that a healthy lifestyle requires plenty of movement. Focused on patient-centered care and education, he strives to help you achieve your lifestyle and fitness goals. Together with the patient, he develops an individualized treatment plan best suited to reach those goals.



In his spare time you can find him playing volleyball, working out, cycling or snowboarding in the winter.

Vu Huynh

Chris graduated from the University of British Columbia with his Bachelor of Kinesiology. Throughout his undergraduate degree, Chris worked as personal trainer and has experience working with individuals ranging from pediatrics to older adults, looking to gain strength, size, and general conditioning.



Recently in 2022, Chris graduated from the University of Limerick in Ireland with his Masters of Science in Physiotherapy. With a strong interest in learning and treating various musculoskeletal conditions, particularly with the knee and shoulder, Chris provides an evidence-based approach to rehabilitation.



Chris believes that exercise, fitness, and rehabilitation needs to be tailored to everyone based on their own needs and goals. He will work with you to create an individualized plan that is both enjoyable and engaging.
